Meet Josie

Hi, 

My name is Josie and I work at the “Material Girl”.  I work on Thursday evening and Saturdays so please stop in and say Hello!

When did you learn to sew? 

 I learned how to sew in Junior High School

What or whom encouraged you to want to learn to sew?

I was encouraged to learn by Mrs. VanBosh and by working for Millie for over 30 years.

What kind of sewing is your favorite?  (Quilting, Bags, home décor, clothing, crafting)

I love all sewing!  You name it!  I am a quilter, crafter and seamstress.   I do Home Décor projects, bags and sew just about anything I can get my hands on.

Do you have a favorite fabric you like to work with?

I don’t really have a favorite, just love them all.

What kinds of fabric do you seem to be drawn to? 

I love bright fabric, contemporary fabrics, batiks and silks!

What are you working on currently?

I have been having so much fun making aprons!

Josie works full-time job at Reichert Motors in Woodstock.  She's been working there as long as she's been at the Fabric Shop.

What else can I tell you about her? 

She can sew anything in lightning fast time and she's got a wicked sense of humor?!!!

Had a great 1st Anniversary sale this weekend....

It was our first Anniversary ....

And our customers made this year the best!

We hope you had time to come see us this weekend.

We had a couple of really great days!

A lot of people stop in to enjoy the sale.

And find fabric for that next project

The girls were kept busy at the cutting table.

And Susie was too!

So many fat quarters to pick from...

Even the little ones tagged along too!

Customers mingled and looked at batiks....

Summer has arrived…

….and with it is come our first anniversary!  We would like to say a big “Thank you! ” to ALL of you who have made our first year so great!  Our faithful customers and all our new ones have helped to make this an awesome first year.  

We have just marked down hundreds of bolts of wonderful fabrics to $5.95 and baskets full of fat quarters slashed to $1.25.  So come on in and check it out!
